We are using 1 pc for FTP.  It is a recent machine running Windows 2000
server.  I think I'll speak to our ISP regarding the noise on the line.

We always have the problem with files coming from one particular
country.

I work at a sheet-fed and web printing company near Wash DC and we get
PDF, 
Zip, Sit and every other type of file from customers.
Most are sent using a HTTP "uploader" page on our web site, then email 
attachments and lastly by FTP.

We had a terrible time with corrupt files when using email.  Replaced
the 
PC-133 RAM sticks (server is older BX chipset) and we have had zero 
corruptions for the last month.

Are you using one machine for FTP?  If so swap out the RAM.  If you use 
other several PC's and have the same corruption I suggest getting your
ISP 
involved as your line most likely has a lot of noise.
