I appreciate the comments I've recieved on design issues and accessibility, as
those will always be continually improved. But, the real issue was the lagtime
in initial page load in Internet Explorer and how to fix it if possible.

I still guess that it has much to do with the handling of the CSS file or
something inside of it. I have noticed the same problem with my own website,
http://www.theward.net -- but I tried AOL.com and ESPN.com and both of those
seem to load without the lag.

Is IE's CSS handling just pitifully slow, or is there something that triggers
the pause before any content comes up on screen?
