While IE6 in quirks mode is not difficult to handle (behaves just like IE 5) Gecko engine browsers are too unpredictable IMHO. div d1 does not really need a height (or width), it will flow around the divs it contains and lose the overflowing on bottom border I am getting in Firefox, (caused of the box model differences in IE and everybody else).
