... But shouldn't the list software be able to filter them out? If not, it should.
I've Google'd very quickly and found a solution to blocking read receipts. It involves modifying the headers to strip out to fields. Hopefully people here don't have a problem with a server modifying their message headers if they have read receipts turned on.
