I don't think the width="" or height="" attributes of the <object /> or <img /> elements will be depreciated any time soon, if not at all. Despite being related to presentation, they lean more towards the content. Certain media types have no specified dimensions, what about certain SWF files? They will remain optional attributes, imo, with their use at the discretion of the author of the page or of the developer of the plugin/applet.

I've heard a few people mention the page building thing before, but I think good image compressions and less mark-up will negate this suggested side effect. The only time I've came across problems is in MacIE, and that's only when using images 1px high; which isn't usualy a problem.
