The active id is giving you the opportunity to make that list item stand out from the others. The current id is giving you the opportunity to make the link stand out from the others.
Here's an example. The current list item is a different color than the other list item buttons. The active link has a globe next to the text and has an underline. I'm not familiar with that particular nav element, but that is how we would use those id's. I used the here class to put a cruise ship above the link on this page http://www.cruiseguarantee.com but web sites all over the place will use these attributes to give a hook for adding style. There is no reference to either in the style sheet so whats it all about. I have more than one ul list in the page so obviously if i am using the same style of list again i will have to make the <li /*id*/="active"> a class instead. But do i even need to have active and current ids/classes in there at all. Sorry if that sounds a tad jumbled but its been a long day. Any explanations or links to explanations would be greatly appreciated Jackie ****************************************************** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list & getting help ****************************************************** ****************************************************** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list & getting help ******************************************************
