They did say it's on their long-term plans to fix that but it's a
major effort. So the saying "don't hold your breath" would seem to apply.
TBH I'd rather they didn't change it. The reason why people remove the
UI controls is to improve the performance. This is because HRD has to
query the state of all the stateful UI controls on every poll. A
mechanism to both extend the UI *OR* to reduce the burden depending on
preference seems a good thing to me. A different approach would require
a completely different way of presenting a server interface to other
clients like us and may in fact not really be any better than what we
have right now.
