You know better than any of us how much overlap there is in the underlying functionality. Adding the WSPR mode to WSJT-X would certainly avoid the duplication of effort in maintaining two very similar code bases. Do keep us up to date on your progress. > Still, I'm happy to have you thinking about how to make the stuff now > now in WSPR-X better. Regarding Bill's response, there are certainly situations where putting binary files in an svn repo can make sense. In the case of the WSPR-X repo, I didn't see any compelling reasons for the binary files there.
For example, libwspr.a is archived. This could have been from a build on Windows, OS X, or Linux, as they all use the same naming convention for ar libraries. I'm having trouble seeing how that would help anyone, as you would need a compiler to link against it, and if you have a compiler, why not just rebuild it from the most recent sources? If the intent is a convenience of some sort, my inclination would be to distribute such files in a ZIP file that you would make available in Sourceforge's File section. They could then be organized in directories that convey the required information like what platform and compiler they are for. 73 John -- John C.
