Hi Bill I hope you are well , apologies as the exchange about the Microkeyer issue was handled in a direct email exchange with Mike (W9MDB) while we were working on the FT991 last week !
We did not further progress and I am not using a Microkeyer . I am using a FT897 but CAT connected using FTDI chip . Jean Marc is using the Microkeyer and he has now confirmed the problem is happening with the FT817 and not with the IC7000 using the same Microkeyer. The Microham interfaces send extra CAT commands so that they can track the radio mode and frequency, this may well be introducing a compatibility issue with the Hamlib driver for the FT-817/857/897. This is probably something I need to investigate directly and separately from the other issues.
