I just joined the developer's list yesterday and promptly built version 1.7.0
of WSJT-X. I am running 1.7.0 as I write this email and have encountered no
serious problems so far. I have several years of WSJT and WSJT-X experience,
however, so I am not a rookie. I have made over 9000 JT65 and JT9 contacts,
most with WSJT-X.
I do have a suggestion that I would like for the development group to consider.
I may have other suggestions to share in the near future, so stay tuned!
When I first start WSJT-X in the morning, before my first cup of coffee, the
program defaults to the Tx1 message left over from the previous evening. This
may be someone's call or the message may be blank depending upon whether I had
cleared everything with F4 before shutting down. When I first get on the air, I
normally listen for a few minutes and if no one is calling CQ I proceed to
"try" to call CQ myself. More than once, I have not noticed that I am sending
out whatever is in Tx1 rather than CQ.
It would be helpful for folks like me if the program defaulted to CQ (Tx6) when
it is first started. Ed, K0KC
