Thanks Josh, that is a useful data point. The decoder runs in a separate thread and results are received asynchronously in the GUI thread so this looks like an infinite loop in the GUI code somewhere. Interestingly this is different from the bad behaviour I have seen on Windows where the waterfall stops but the rest of the program remains responsive. So I think there are at least two separate issues :( After several hours of running with various settings I have failed to reproduce either issue.
