Hi Eric,

if the "Remove stale lock file" option does not allow the application to 
proceed then there is another instance of WSJT-X still running. I.e. the 
lock file is doing what it is supposed to. In this scenario it is is not 
the lock file that needs removing but the other instance of WSJT-X. 
Checking with whatever your operating system's process listing tool is 
(Task Manager, ps, ...) for a process running wsjtx and killing it is 
the only solution short of rebooting.
