Hi WSJT-X developers,

_From: G3JKF_

I have been using WSPR and more recently WSJTX software in support of my investigation into small loop antenna design for 6 years or more. They are both a boon for amateurs like me and a great tool for antenna performance investigations.

When upgrading from WSPR to the more sensitive WSJTX a big disadvantage is the necessity to manually Enable Tx before WSPR2 mode transmission is possible. Since my station starts automatically in early morning for the Dawn Grey Zone operating period I cannot turn on the PC from cold and transmit at intervals. Rx mode only is available.

As a work-around to this problem I have been Hibernating automatically when finishing the previous evening's WSPR activities. This PC close-down method is not recommended for the Solid State Drives which I use. Also occasionally when the Hibernation fails for any reason the PC boots up as a fresh start, so losing the ability to Transmit without manual intervention. Additionally sometimes the system fails with a new start when the rig control sequence halts for some unknown reason and stalls at the Retry menu.

It would help greatly if, in WSPR2 mode, the WSJT-X *.ini file could include a setting to start the program with Tx already Enabled.*

It is possible there is already a fix for this shortcoming but I have not been able to locate it.

I'm sure many WSPR2 users would support the addition of this enhancement.

73 and many thanks for your continued efforts in this field of amateur radio.
