I frequently am running many instances of WSJT-X, which get their audio via
VAC from multiple VFOs in SDR-Console (v2 and v3). With my RSP1 I can
usually fit at least 3 different ham bands within it's 10Mhz waterfall.

This works great, BUT as far as I know, I can only control VFO A using
Hamlib CAT serial protocol. SDR-Console is designed to emulate the Kenwood
TS-2000's CAT protocol, so this is the rig I choose in the WSJT-X settings.

I would like to be able to control ANY of the VFOs in SDR-Console.

The serial command to get the frequency of VFO A is "FA;", with a response
like "FA00014076000;"
For VFO B we query "FB;", VFO C "FC;" and so on. SDR-Console V3 offers up
to 24 VFOs at the moment. Console V2 offers six VFOs.

I have tested this with up to six VFOs, and I assume we just go through the
alphabet up to "FX;" for the 24th VFO.

I made a (crappy) program in VB that translates the "FA;" into other VFOs.
And it works in a rather mediocre way. But I'd love to see this capability
added to WSJT-X directly. I'm just a beginner so my program (AlternateVFO)
sucks. And it's extra software to deal with every time.

My first question is, should I be asking the WSJT-X-devel team about this,
or Hamlib-devel?

Here's my VB program.

If anyone wants to see source, email me. But I'd rather not have to use
this program at all.
