Does anybody use TX1 for full call? Never seen one.

I usually do. And most of the compound call users I know here in Costa Rica also do, too.

The problem that those of us DX stations cursed with having to use a compound call have, is that if we answer a CQ with TX2, we can often be (in fact, usually are) ignored - who cares about yet another W7 (they never bother to note that the grid square is not in the U.S., unless they're grid hunters)?

The problem with responding with TX1 is that the station to whom we are responding aren't always sure that we are responding to THEM.

So we're damned if we do, and damned if we don't.

Several of the other gringo hams I know here in Costa Rica are faced with the same issue. So the question becomes, which is the least problematic. And a lot of use over a long period of time, everyone here seems to settle on TX1. And as a result, most of us have taken to using TX1 to avoid being frequently ignored.
