Hi all, I posted a message to wsjtgroup a few days ago about this, but got no replies. I didn't post it here because I know developers are understandably reluctant to get embroiled in band-planning issues. However, back in July-ish, there was a proposal (from the lead developers) for a reorganisation of the default 80m frequencies once 1.8.0 GA was released, particularly to accommodate Japan, which cannot transmit between 3575 and 3599 kHz.
The existing plan (USB dial freqs) is: WSPR 3.592600 MHz, JT65 3.576000 MHz, JT9 3.578000 MHz The proposed new plan (USB dial freqs) was:[1] WSPR 3.568600 MHz, JT65 3.570000 MHz, JT9 3.572000 MHz, FT8 3.573000 MHz Question: is this proposal still in the works or has it been forgotten or intentionally abandoned or what? I feel this issue is becoming important because there is now so much FT8 activity on 80m that it's becoming very difficult to work DX, because there are now so many local signals filling nearly all the available slots that DX is more often than not impossible even to receive. FT8 needs more room, and before considering how best to spread out, it would be useful to know the current status of the July-ish plan.
