Hello,
Would it be possible to add XK2000 series transceiver to the list of supported
radios?
ARRL has one at W1AW HQ they would like to use (supported by N1MM) and there
are also more of them in hams hands lately, since radio is replaced by the 4000
series.
What documentation would you need?
Thanks! Alex KU1CW

Hi Alex,

normally the required CAT control documentation can be found on line although R&S manuals can be hard to find. Anything about he CAT protocol and connection method would be needed. Other R&S receivers can use RS-232 serial comms and also network comms, the RS-232 serial protocol is usually easiest but not necessarily essential. As the XK2000 transceiver looks new I would guess that the PC comms is modular and there is some add on option module with separate manuals. All I can find on the R&S web site is a marketing brochure.

This is actually a request to extend Hamlib as WSJT-X defers direct rig control to the open source library. You need to find someone with time to make the changes needed, there are Hamlib contributors on this list, also the Hamlib development team have their own support and development mailing list: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hamlib-developer .
