Tnx Rory.

I do prefer split, true, but “CQ PLUS” is as close as I can get to “CQ FT8+”
within the confines of the CQ message format i.e. CQ[space][up to 4
letters][space][my callsign][space][my 4-char grid].

I’m currently on 15m FT8+ a little above 2000 Hz on the usual VFO frequency,
running a sufficiency of power towards NA.

I’m mostly calling CQ PLUS ZL2IFB RF80 interspersed with these free text
messages:

WSJTX2 RC4 HR

77 BITS ONLY

NO CPY 75 BIT

TX 77 BIT PLS

I’ve had no FT8+ QSOs so far today and copied just one 77-bit station (WA6PHR)
while I was otherwise engaged … but I’ll persist for a while yet to give other
pathfinders the chance to work ZL on the new mode. I’ll shift down to 17m then
20m over the next couple of hours (roughly 22-01z). Might turn the beam
towards Asia as well to give our friends in that part of the world the same
opportunity.

Same again tomorrow, provided 15m is open to NA as it is today.

I copied your "CQ_Plus" just fine Gary. I guessed that you wanted to work
split "up" and we completed a good QSO. Nice test of 77 bit Gary!

While trying to send a “CQ PLUS” message, I somehow got WSJT-X 2.0.0-rc4 to
send, or appear to send, a hashed version of the message with “<CQ_plus>”, 3
times:

I deleted and re-entered the “ plus” bit from the Tx6 message box (prematurely
sending the “CQZL2IFB RF870” message in the process) but it again sent the
hashed version … until I clicked the Tx6 button which started me sending the
“CQ PLUS” non-hashed form as expected.

If I only edit the Tx6 message to “CQ plus ZL2IFB RF80” it sends the hashed
version: after I click the Tx6 button, it converts the message showing in the
Tx6 box to uppercase and sends the non-hashed version.
