Hi Charlie,
as you have to share a rig interface you cannot run both simultaneously.
You have two options, firstly you can set up two icons for WSJT-X each
starting the application with a different '-r name' command line option
(one of them can have no '-r' option and that one will use your current
settings and log files directory). This meets your separate logbook
requirements as each instance of WSJT-X will have completely separate
log directories, so you will have two wsjtx_log.adi files for import
into your station logging applications. This setup is what you would use
for simultaneous running more than one rig but you can use with a shared
interface as well. The small con is that you must completely shut down
WSJT-X before switching the interface then starting the other instance,
but having two icons preset with the correct command line makes that
very easy.
The second option is to use two configurations within WSJT-X, this
doesn't meet the separate logbook requirement as they will share the
same WSJT-X log files directory so moving QSO details to your logging
application is more complex. To create a new configuration go to
"Menu->Configurations". When switching configurations you may be a
transient rig control error, I would recommend switching your interface
first then any initial CAT setup done by teh configuration switch over
will be directed to the new rig.
