Good morning all,

Worked a station this morning and after receiving his 73, I went back to calling CQ. As normal, the Tx 5 window was still populated with his call:

 - W3OA NM3G 73 -

I saw him sending additional 73 and RR73 messages, so I added  TU to the end of the TX 5 message. Yes, I can count ... mostly.

When I sent the revised message

 - W3OA NM3G 73 TU -

The program shut down completely. Restarted just fine, but the abnormal termination was quite the surprise.

I repeated this several times to ensure I captured the entire chain of events ... and adding that 14th character apparently created an unexpected condition. The radio did remain in transmit mode (easily fixed by manually switching back to RX), and WSJT-X restarted immediately without any fuss (no other instances were running).

Here's the snippet of my all.txt:

So, I'll learn to count to 13 in the future to prevent this corner case ... just wanted to share what I found.

Thanks and 73,
