I could also see some non-contest uses for it - think SOTA/WWFF/POTA type 'activations' which are not WARC band restricted but where an operator may wish to use a higher throughput rate for QSOs. While primarily a contest tool, FT4 could serve as a mechanism for operators who operate non-contest award programs where there is some value in operating faster QSOs than FT8 or other low signal modes allow for.
