As a follow-on, I did install "gfortran": sudo apt install gfortran and got
this:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
gfortran is already the newest version (4:9.3.0-1ubuntu2).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

However I still get the error: "Depends: libgfortran3 (>= 4.8.2) but it is
not installable" when I try and install wsjt-x
