Luis, That functionality surfaces the general problem of an “instant” mode change. Does the operator want to continue/start a new QSO on the current frequency or jump to the default/pre-defined frequency for the mode. Additional problem for the F/H operation is how the Fox frequency is actually set, when you want to go to operate a certain Fox, i.e. jump from a standard frequency to special Fox frequency (and later back to the previous standard frequency). There could be multiple DXoperation station active at the same time using different frequencies.
The same is valid, if the “H” button is modified to cover all Special Operations. Perhaps the most useful manner would be just keep the current “VFO” or base frequency intact. Of course there is always the Configurations menu available and full control what happens to any parameter. Only problem with the Configurations is the time it takes to make the change. I don’t mean the needed of two clicks, but the processing time that at least with my computers is too long for an “instant” mode change in contests. 73, Reino OH3mA Subject: Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X 2.6.0 rc1 feed back Hi, thank you folks for this very nice program. I’m using the beta version and found it very stable and with nice features. The “hound” button is the most interesting for me and I want to share something that could be a bug ( or may be not). If you are trying to work a “fox” station, on a frequency off the regular ft8 fcy, and somebody insist in calling you, if you push the “hound” button to answer that call, the program jumps to answer in the standard ft8 fcy for that band. It looks to me that this is a non intentional bug and it would be better the program keeps the frequency and just send and spect to receive the standard messages in proper ft8 standard order . So this way changing mode would be seamless just pushing the button. Hope this helps. Congratulations and best wishes. -- Luis F. Arango HK4L -- Luis F. Arango HK4L
