A minor addition for Windows users. The COM port should be ‘Enhanced’ one for CAT control, see Device Manager – Ports (COM & LPT).

So the error message says exactly what the problem is. Linux should be something similar to this: /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1. My Icom 7100 is set to /dev/ttyUSB0 for cat control. Windows is a completely different beast. Again, the error message saying that USB is not a valid com port. Windows and the drivers actually assign a com port. Usually, something bizarre like COM5 and COM6 using the Icom provided drivers. Follow in the installation instructions in Chapter 3 of the User Guide, combined with the driver installation instructions available from Icom. Installed wsjtx-2.6.1-win64.exe on a windows 10 OS and received basically the same error. The hamlib DLL on the Windows machine has a file date of 1/10/2023, a size of 9.7 mb, and a file name of libhamlib-4.dll. Have wsjtx set up for CAT control on an IC-7300. Some years back wsjtx was working on both Linux and Windows on the IC-7300. Any suggestions are welcome. 73 WB6CVR _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net <mailto:wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel -- Jeff Stillinger - KB6IBB KB6IBB Laboratories, Wylie Tx http://kb6ibb-15.ham-radio-op.net/ Reddit: r/KB6IBBSWLLogger
