For anyone who maybe interested I had to do the following to make it work
1) change wsrp4j-producer.xml
which on Tomcat 4.1 is being copied upon install/deploy under
$CATALINA_HOME/webapps (for it still contains the old path) :

Can anyone fix this in the repository ?
2) Tomcat wouldn't find the taglib definition identified by
'http://java.sun.com/portlet' although pluto-1.0.1.jar located under
$CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib has got it under its META-INF/ directory !
Any idea why ?
Anyhow I fixed that by just copying the portlet.tld under
$CATALINA_HOME/webapps/wsrp4j-testportlet/WEB-INF/tld and modifying
the web.xml under $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/wsrp4j-testportlet/WEB-INF
adding:
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>http://java.sun.com/portlet</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tld/portlet.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
But I reckon it would be better if it just worked as is....
