We see the PermGen error pretty regularly and it isn't limited to the 2.0 builds for us. We've seen it with 1.0.x and 1.5.x. I believe the problem started happening with a particular version of Sun's JVM for Java 5, but I do not have the info about the specific version. The workaround is to increase the allocated PermGen space using "-XX:MaxPermSize=256m" in the vmargs.
