Okay, sorry, I jumped the gun on rubyscript2exe. I managed to get a full Ruby 1.8.5 install on my XP Embedded box, and I'm getting intermittent segmentation faults with that too. So rubyscript2exe is just faithfully producing the same bug that's in Ruby itself.
