Had to change the id's you were using to access the html elements, this
should work:

require 'watir'

include Watir

require 'test/unit'

class TC_SendManyMessages < Test::Unit::TestCase

           $email = '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'

           $pw = 'password'

           def test_send_many_messages

                       ie = IE.start('
http://www.divinecaroline.com/public/login/show_login_page'<http://www.divinecaroline.com/public/login/show_login_page%27>
)

                       ie.text_field(:id, 'user_email').set($email)

                       ie.text_field(:id,'user_password').set($pw)

                       ie.button(:name, 'login_button').click

   end

end

Hey Charley, thanks for taking a look! Yeah, I mistakenly pasted an
internal url. Our public site is:
http://www.divinecaroline.com/public/login/show_login_page<http://carolinerr.realgirlsmedia.local/public/login/show_login_page>
