I have run into another (and more serious) problem when using the
WWWOFFLE fetch command . Although I managed to solve it, there is a
great lack of elegance in the solution. So I am posting this in the
hope that there is a better way.

The problem arose out of listing (offline) a file to be fetched the
next time that I was online. The topic sounded quite innocuous -
pruning an apple tree.

The requested URL turned out to be a learned tract of some 32
pages + more than 28 illustrations. To make things worse, my connection
was very poor. After a download time of over 15 minutes (and more
than 3Mb of document) I was ready to throw in the towel. The question
was `how'.

I solved the problem by opening a second xterm window from which I
issued the -offline command. That stopped the `fetch' without
disconnecting me from my ISP.

It solved my problem, but it seems very clumsy to me. If there is a
better way, I would be glad to be told.
