Do you use different ISPs? If the DNS config (/etc/resolv.conf especially) changes after wwwoffle was started, wwwoffle doesn't "see" that change and will continue to use the old one. I recommend something like pdnsd on your local system, which works as a DNS proxy; /etc/resolv.conf then points to localhost (127.0.0.1) and never changes.
