I am experiencing a seemingly similar problem. Using WWWOFFLE 2.7 in the configuration "browser -> wwwoffle -> junkbuster -> internet," with lynx as browser, I occasionally see the following instead of the desired page:
HTTP/1.0 304 WWWOFFLE Not Modified Server: WWWOFFLE/2.7 Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2002 23:20:42 GMT Content-type: text/html Content-Length: 0 Connection: close Proxy-Connection: close Performing a reload (CTRL-r in lynx) fixes it, i.e., produces the desired page. I did not ever experience this problem with WWWOFFLE 2.5e in the same configuration (same version of browser and junkbuster). The symptom I first noticed were frequent "Document contains no > data"-popups in Netscape and lots of "broken picture" images.
