There are two orthogonal concepts, indexes and filtering that you are
trying to combine. They do different things and can be applied
together. To start mixing in "special" combinations just makes it
confusing for users and more difficult to program and maintain. This
is the reason that the "latest" index was removed. It was different
from the others and could not be sensibly combined with all of the
other options on the index page.
A good deal of thought went into the index pages, they are laid out
with the different index types listed at the top, the sorting options
listed below them and the other options below that. The index types
and sort options each form a set of "radio buttons" where only one can
be selected. The other options at the bottom are each boolean on/off
selections. All of the three rows of buttons are independent, they
display an index with the combination of all selected attributes.

If you want to see Stallman's power tie then you will need to get used
to looking in the "lastout" index rather than the "lasttime" index.
