Not apparently applicable to the debian .deb which doesn't have that file.

How about since we control
  add-cache-info = yes | no
in the conf file, perhaps also allow a
  add-cache-info-reclaim-colors = yes | no
or call it add-cache-info-force-colors, to make sure text and
background colors are not left in a wacko state, e.g. deep blue on
black like http://tcemap.gcc.ntu.edu.tw/

Or maybe add variables add-cache-info-text-color, add-cache-info-bg-color
