If it causes such a problem then either disable this feature or run it
with a lower priority (nice).  The other problem then would be that if
you go online and offline twice you may have two simultaneous htdig
processes running which may cause problems.

The incremental search will still take a long time because it must
update the database of words with the new ones that have been found.
This is slow since it uses only an alphabetically sorted text list.
