I have recently been through ALL of the pages that WWWOFFLE produces
and given them an HTML 4.01 DTD and made sure that they validate.

The error that you refer to is about the only place where the existing
pages don't validate, and it is a very minor point anyway (no browser
would ever misunderstand it).
