Hello, and thanks for reply. I forget to mention i'm using wwwoffle 2.7a, Galeon 1.27 on Debian 3.0r2.
The URL specification does not need to be <http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/*> because when use-url=no is set then it is the root URL of the server that is looked up and used as the age for all pages on the server.
Yes, i collect 'root URLs' only im my purge file. Would it make any differencew when i activate 'use-url = yes' then ?
Now i run another test purge, and it says:By testing this on my cache (after disabling deleting of files in purge.c) I have been unable to replicate this problem. By setting use-url=no and either URLs like <http://www1.foo/> and <http://www2.foo/*> none of the pages on either host were deleted.
Purged (10 days) http://www.eu2004.ie ; 138 kB
Not Purged http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov ; 227 kB
Purged (10 days) http://kerneltrap.org ; 34 kB
So it looks like it works. Probably it was my fault, and i fiddled with the 'outsourced purge file' some weeks agao, and can't clearly rember what i might have done wrong. But i like to find out, to be prepared.
Again this question, would use-url=yes purge subsequent files under a host root URL ?Are you sure that you do not have any options like use-url=yes or age=... above the list of URLs that you have set up specifically?
It could be i set it to 'yes' at some time to check something out.
I would expect it makes no difference, with my kind of purge list.
Please tell me if it does.
At least some of those i downloaded, e.g. the complete http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/sseop/clickmap/Do the images that you are trying to keep really come from the server eol.jsc.nasa.gov and not from another server with a redirection from the original location?
It's a large net conglomerat there, and there were many pictures from earthobserevatory and fourmilab etc.;
but the same condition and problem applies to these URLs, anyway.
