It is safe for you to delete any of the files in the cache without
causing problems except for losing the files that are deleted. If you
don't delete cleanly (you delete a D* file but not the matching U*
file) then when you run 'wwwoffle -purge' it will tidy up for you.
This robust cache concept is one of the key drivers to the format of
the cached directory. There is no central index that must be
preserved.
