It's nothing fancy, just an option that affects the amount of help in
the last line; you can set it directly in your .lynxrc:

,----
| # user_mode specifies the users level of knowledge with Lynx. The
| # default is "NOVICE" which displays two extra lines of help at the
| # bottom of the screen to aid the user in learning the basic Lynx
| # commands. Set user_mode to "INTERMEDIATE" to turn off the extra
| # info.
| # Use "ADVANCED" to see the URL of the currently selected link at the
| # bottom of the screen.
| user_mode=ADVANCED
`----

Or you can use "o" in lynx to get to the options, which starts with:

,----
| General Preferences
| User mode : [Advanced____]
                                       ^^^^^^|^^^^^^
---------------------------------------------'

| Type of Search : [Case insensitive]
`----

(In case it matters: Lynx Version 2.8.5rel.1 (04 Feb 2004), but the
option is ancient.)

And risk turning everything into escape sequences, not into English.

Regards and seasonal greetings,
