i have a follow up thought on Bruce's question. The API docs say that wxStaticText inherits from wxEvtHandler. From what I understand of the C API, that means it should be able to handle events. That makes me think that the Linux version is working correctly and that the Windows implementation is not trapping the event properly?
Another possibility is that Windows is not generating any events for the static box (so there isn't any event for wxWidgets to process).
