Well, I didn't know about those.

But I can tell two (well, three) things:

1) I am seriously looking at OCaml - exactly because of my Perl way if thinking;
2) I am less seriously looking at Node.js - and also more seriously - because
it is supported by the behemoth called Google;
3) a lady thanked me privately in a PM for trying to distract her away from
Java in favor of something functional - she thanked me after finding a job
requiring Scala.

By the way, I stumbled upon an article explaining why OCaml on LLVM is much
better performance-wise than JVM.

I'll probably be able to find it again if anybody is interested.

I am trying to say that apparently JVM is not a way to go.

Regards,
  Sergei.
