As of x10c++ release version 1.7.3, we have not offered any user specific
installation option -- the user is expected to use the unzipped/untarred
distribution files in place.  The current x10c++ compiler driver script is
tailored to meet the needs of both binary and source users.  However, as you
rightly suggested, one cannot invoke the compiler correctly through a
symbolic link, as the compiler operational paths are set relatively.  We
intend to correct this behavior in the next upcoming release.
