A user of some of my software has reported problem on a 10.11 machine. I am not sure if it is a new machine or he upgraded to that OS. The problem is that after installing XQuartz, the symlink from /usr/X11R6 to /opt/X11 is not present and a reference to /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.6.dylib fails. I am not able to test myself.
Neither recompiling nor install_name_tool are available options, alas, but I had thought according to the other message below that this symlink would be created. Anyone else see this? Any possibility to correct this or find a work-around? Brian Begin forwarded message: Hi Brian, Thanks for these suggestions. I removed xQuartz and went for a clean install with the latest stable version 2.7.7, and then retried with 2.7.8 rc. Still getting the same issue with expgui. Best Wishes, Chris The latest rc from a few months ago should work fine. The postinstall hook script takes care of the /usr/X11 and /usr/X11R6 symlinks via the new/usr/libexec/x11-select tool --Jeremy
