I've got something odd going on. I'm running Mavericks with XQuartz 2.7.8. When I switch (via a mouse click) from a non-X11 window to an XQuartz window, XQuartz becomes the foremost application and I get focus on the XQuartz window, then the Finder crashes (stealing focus as it does) within a second or two, then (after about 3 seconds) the focus returns to the the XQuartz window, but the application I was on before the Finder crashed is now the foremost application (all of which makes it very difficult to use the XQuartz menus).
This seems to have started after the X11 application was renamed XQuartz. I've tried the trick of removing the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file, but it has no appreciable effect.
