Thanks, the “port” command built AbiWord from the abiword-x11 port.

I can run AbiWord by entering “abiword &” in a Terminal window, but there’s
nothing in /Applications that can run it.

When I started AbiWord from Terminal I got the following complaints (maybe
because I thought I had the Xcode command line tools installed and I didn’t):

(abiword:53227): Gtk-WARNING **: Could not find the icon 'abiword_48'. The
'hicolor' theme
was not found either, perhaps you need to install it.
You can get a copy from:
        http://icon-theme.freedesktop.org/releases

I got the copy, it told me I could just enter “make PREFIX=/usr”, and I got
nothing but a complaint that there was no makefile and no target. Then I used
“port” to install hicolor-icon-theme. I still get the same complaint but
AbiWord seems to work anyway.

Is there a way to run it from /Applications? I can run it from the Applications
menu of XQuartz, but why can’t I run it from /Applications the way I run
Fontforge and Inkscape?
