With Snow Leppard, turning off my TV (3rd screen) didn't do anything. With Yosemite, the 2 remainingt screens flash a number of times for a few seconds and any window that were on the 3rd screen are relocated to the first one. (I don't have separate spaces). It is very annoying.
However, I have never had instances with Xquartz windows became unreacheable/invisible after a change in screens. (with Snow Leopard, windows remained in their position that was no longer mapped to a display, but with some blind luck and aim, you could "grab" the title bar and drag them onto one of the 2 remaining screens. _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
