I’d quite like to upgrade at least one of my two Macs to Seqoia 15.4, but the window-minimize issue would be a real nuisance for me. I could get by with another window manager. I’ve tried twm and it works OK, but it would be nice to have something a bit more modern. I am having problems with installing xfce and xfwm4, but I have installed mwm (not very modern, but I used to use it a lot). However, when I put mwm in my .xinitrc file and start X by running xterm from a terminal window, then something goes into a loop that starts the XQuartz app only to find it immediately exits. If I start X with startx, then the XQuartz app does start and ps shows that mwm is running but when I start an app like xterm from a terminal window, xterm runs but its window is not visible. After using startx, the XQuartz app sometimes refuses to quit and if I kill it, it something repeatedly tries to restart it and the only cure seems to be a reboot.
Any suggestions for how to diagnose and/or fix this would be gratefully received. There is nothing useful in the standard output or standard error from mwm.
