gnome-terminal.desktop != gnome-terminal

If you believe the symlink is wrong, you shouldn't replace it with one
that is wrong as well. ;-)

Run "find / -name 'gnome-terminal.desktop'" and point the symlink at the
result of your search.

Yes, either fix the symlink, or, if all you need to run is one
application, skip Published Application mode and just specify the
terminal as a single application in X2GoClient.
