Presumably changes between JAXP 1.1 and recent developer releases of 2.2 have fixed this kind of behavior. If anyone can reproduce this kind of problem on a recent build, I'd suggest opening a new bug with your specific code and the stack trace (or the CTRL-C hung threads trace, as needed...)
