This is not a problem with Xalan -- the problem is that your editor/viewer
does not understand UTF-8. You have several choices:

   1. Use xsl:output to specify an encoding that your editor/viewer
understands. ISO-8859-1 is a likely candidate.
   2. Use an editor/viewer that understands XML documents and can display
   the document properly.

Your subject line is _very_ confusing. Xalan did _not_ transform U+0160 to
the entity reference   This is XML, _not_ HTML, and there is no such
pre-defined entity in XML.

Hi all,

for some reason Xalan is transforming the &#160 character to an &Acirc
character:
(This is hapenning in a step which transforms a stylesheet to another
stylesheet.)

Does anyone know why this is happening, and what I can do to prevent that?

thanks very much for your help,
