No bug observed; all whitespace appeared correctly. I _strongly_ recommend trying this same experiment on your own machine (download the latest Xalan from apache's CVS server, run build to get new jar files, and run the test with those). If it passes -- and I really expect that it will -- we should mark this as Fixed. If it doesn't... well, the first thing I'd suggest you check is that your classpaths are actually loading the correct xalan.jar.
